Ryszard Horowitz

Ryszard Horowitz (born May 5, 1939 in Krakow ) is a Polish - American advertising photographer and poster artist. He is considered one of the youngest Schindler Jews and Auschwitz survivors .

Horowitz was the son of the engineer David Horowitz and his wife Regina Putzmacherin. Because the family was in contact with Abraham Bankier , they managed to get on Schindler's list .

After the war he attended the High School for Fine Arts in Cracow and studied painting at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts . He started taking photos in 1953.

Ryszard Horowitz emigrated to the United States in 1959 and began studying at the Pratt Institute in New York City . Until 1967 he was the art director of the advertising agency Gray and then founded his own studio. Horowitz has received several awards for his work.

Horowitz is married to Anna, née Bogusz. The couple have two children.
