Sándor Steidl (born September 15, 1959 in Vác ) is a former Hungarian football player .

Career

Steidl spent most of his career at the traditional Hungarian club Újpest Budapest , with which he won the Hungarian Cup three times . In the 1983/84 season he reached the quarter-finals in the European Cup Winners' Cup with Újpest by a 5: 5 two-way leg against 1. FC Köln by the away goals rule , but where they were eliminated against the defending champions FC Aberdeen . Steidl was in the starting line-up in five of his club's six games in competition.

In the 1989/90 season Steidl moved to the German second division club Eintracht Braunschweig , for which he played a total of 14 games (13 league / 1 DFB Cup ), but returned to his home country after only one season abroad.

Currently (as of the 2012/13 season) Steidl plays for the Újpest old men’s team.
