São Clemente de Basto is a municipality in northern Portugal , around 85 kilometers northeast of Porto .
São Clemente de Basto belongs to the Celorico de Basto district in the Braga district , has an area of 15.4 km² and has a population of 1524 (as of June 30, 2011). On July 12, 2001, the place was raised to Vila (German: small town ) under the name Gandarela de Basto .
