São João de Deus was a municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Lisbon .

It had 9,693 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011). It was named after John of God .

In autumn 2013, the municipality was merged with the neighboring municipality of Alto do Pina to form the new municipality of Areeiro .
