São João dos Montes is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Vila Franca de Xira . The community had 6013 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of São João dos Montes, Calhandriz and Alhandra were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Alhandra, São João dos Montes e Calhandriz .
