São Pedro de Penaferrim is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district ( concelho ) of Sintra . The community had 13,984 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011). It represents part of the urban area of Sintra.
As part of the territorial reform of September 29, 2013 , the inner-city communities of Sintra (São Pedro de Penaferrim), Sintra (Santa Maria e São Miguel) and Sintra (São Martinho) became the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Sintra (Santa Maria e São Miguel, São Martinho e São Pedro de Penaferrim) .
