São Tomé de Abação is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
São Tomé de Abação is part of the Guimarães district in the Braga district . The community had an area of 5.2 km² and 2262 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011). The community is only slightly urbanized.
On September 29, 2013, the communities of Abação (São Tomé) and Gémeos were merged to form the new community União das Freguesias de Abação e Gémeos .
