course
The Sägebach rises in the municipality of Sillian between the Hochgruben ( 2538 m above sea level ) in the north-west and the Hornischegg ( 2550 m above sea level ) in the south-east. It then flows in a north-easterly direction to the tree line, where it falls down a waterfall, with the Hintertalbach flowing after 2.7 kilometers on the left. The Sägebach flows almost exclusively through forested areas in the middle and lower reaches, with the lower reaches showing a very steep gradient. The last 1.5 kilometers of its course are predominantly in the municipality of Heinfels, with the stream flowing west of Kohllechen and Rabland, crossing under the Drautalbahn and then flowing into the Drau on the right.
