Sölvi Geir Ottesen Jónsson (born February 18, 1984 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic football player .
Career
Sölvi Geir Ottesen started his career in his hometown Reykjavík with Víkingur , where he made 36 appearances for Víkingur between 2001 and 2004. After three years he moved to Djurgården in Sweden . With the club from Stockholm he won the championship and cup double in the second year .
At the end of the 2008 season he moved to Denmark to Sønderjysk Elitesport , where he signed a three-year contract. In June 2010 he again signed a three-year contract with the champions of the Danish Super League , FC Copenhagen .
Arriving at FCK, Sölvi Ottesen scored the decisive goal in the UEFA Champions League play-off round against Rosenborg Trondheim , which entitles them to participate in the Champions League.
In 2013 he left FC Copenhagen and moved to FK Ural in Russia. He played a total of 33 games in the Premjer League , the top division in Russia. In February 2015 he left the club after almost 2 years.
On February 14, 2015, he moved to China in the Chinese Super League . Here he played for 1 year with the 1st division Jiangsu Suning before moving within the country. On February 4, 2016, he joined Wuhan Zall and has since played in China League One, the 2nd division in China.
