Sören Schumacher (born June 4, 1976 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been a member of the Hamburg Parliament since 2008 .

Life

Schumacher received his Abitur at the Immanuel-Kant-Gymnasium in 1995 and then completed his community service at the Elbe workshops . He then began to study law at the University of Hamburg , which he did not graduate. He worked as a sailing trainer at the Sinstorf sailing association from 1990 to 2004 and has been a member of the board since 1992. Since 2005 he has been a member of the board of the water sports community Neuländer See and participant in the district discussion on violence prevention in the south of Harburg.

politics

Schumacher joined the SPD in 2002 . Since 2004 he has been a member of the board of the Harburg-Süd district, of which he has been chairman since 2012. From 2004 to 2006 he was a co-opted member of the board of the Harburg district association and since 2006 he has been responsible for protocol and communication as an elected member of the district board. From 2004 to 2008 he was a named citizen of the youth welfare committee of the Harburg district assembly . In 2005 he graduated from the North Municipal Academy of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation .

In the 2008 mayor election , he won a direct mandate in the Harburg constituency and moved into the Hamburg citizenry . In the 19th electoral term he was a member of the family, children and youth committee, the sports committee, the submission committee and the hardship committee . He was also the political spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group.

In the 2011 mayor election , he again won a direct mandate in the Harburg constituency. In the 20th electoral term he was a member of the European Committee, the Sports Committee, the Submission Committee and the Hardship Committee. He was also the political spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group and chairman of the hardship commission. In June 2014, he also became a member of the Interior Committee.

In the 2015 mayor election , he again won a direct mandate in the Harburg constituency. In the 21st electoral term he was a member of the Interior Committee, the European Committee and the Sports Committee. Until October 2017 he was the European political spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group and then domestic political spokesman.

In the 2020 citizenship election , he again won a direct mandate in the Harburg constituency. In the 22nd electoral term he is a member of the Interior Committee, the Budget Committee, the European Committee and the Sports Committee. He is also the domestic political spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group.
