1987 South Pacific Games / Football
At the VIII South Pacific Games in 1987 , which took place for the second time in New Caledonia , a competition in football was held. Six teams took part in the tournament. All games were played in Nouméa from December 9-19 , 1987 . Everyone against everyone was played in a simple league round. The first and second placed played for the tournament victory, the third and fourth for bronze.
New Caledonia won its fourth gold medal at the South Pacific Games after 1963, 1969 and 1971.
