Southwest textile

Südwesttextil (fully Association of the Southwest German Textile and Clothing Industry - Südwesttextil eV ) is the trade and employers' association of the textile and clothing industry in Baden-Württemberg . It represents around 200 companies that employ around 25,000 people and generate total annual sales of around 7.3 billion euros. The member companies include manufacturers of the starting products (yarns, etc.) and technical textiles that are used in automotive or aircraft construction, but also in building construction and landscaping, as well as producers of medical textiles, house and home textiles (bedding, curtains, Pillows, tablecloths) to textile finishers and well-known clothing brands.

Südwesttextil was created in March 2003 from the merger of the Association of the Baden-Württemberg Textile Industry and the Association of the Southwest German Clothing Industry. The association is registered as a registered association in Stuttgart . The general manager of the association is Peter Haas. President is Bodo Th. Bölzle, Chairman of the Management Board of the sewing thread manufacturer Amann Group .

The association represents the interests of companies in economic, social and tariff policy. Südwesttextil offers services and organizes seminars, workshops and events. To promote technological innovation in the textile industry, Südwesttextil has been supporting the establishment of an endowed professorship for industrial and material design at Reutlingen University since the 2015/16 winter semester .

Südwesttextil is a member of the State Association of Baden-Württemberg Employers' Associations, the General Association of the German Textile and Fashion Industry and the Stifterverband for German science . At the state level, Südwesttextil is the largest employers' association in the industry in Germany.
