Sırapyon Manas

Sırapyon Manas (* 1837 ; † unknown) was an Armenian theater director , translator , writer and actor . He was the first Ottoman Armenian to write and perform music theater .

By Hagop Baronian (1843-1891), a playwright , Sırapyon Manas founded in Constantinople Opel a French theater and staged there for seven years. Later he worked on the stages of Cairo . In Paris he directed the Théâtre Dejazet without success . In 1874 he returned to Constantinople and staged again at a French theater and became director of the Palais de Cristal Tiyatro . In 1886 he staged at Yeni Tiyatro , which was located on the site of today's Tokatlıyan Han . His stage works included Armenian vaudevilles by Rumpelstiltskin and Pamela , La vie à Milan and an adaptation by Angelo, tyran de Padoue by Victor Hugo .
