The locomotives of the class ВЛ60 (German transcription WL60) of the Soviet Railways (SŽD) are wide-gauge electric locomotives for mixed traffic.
history
The electric locomotives of the series ВЛ60 (WL60) were built in four different versions from 1957 by the then Soviet manufacturer of electric locomotives factory Novocherkassk . They were developed as the ВЛ60 variant for freight train service with a top speed of 110 km / h, the ВЛ60 Р (WL60 R ) variant for the freight train service with electrical resistance brakes, the ВЛ60 К (WL60 K ) variant for freight train service and silicon rectifiers and the ВЛ60 П (WL60 P ) built for passenger train service at 130 km / h.
The locomotives ВЛ60 , ВЛ60 Р and ВЛ60 П have Ignitron - Rectifier received. To what extent they were later converted to silicon rectifiers cannot be found in the literature.
The ВЛ60 П , developed for passenger train service, was specially built using aluminum in the electrical and mechanical parts. This is shown by their smaller service mass. All locomotives are one-piece bogie locomotives with the Co'Co 'wheel arrangement. Care has been taken to ensure that the construction is largely identical.
The locomotives were built in large numbers and are the standard locomotives of the former USSR . Mission data can be found on the Russian Wikipedia.
