The locomotives of the SŽD series ТЭП10Л (German transcription TEP 10L ) of the Soviet Railways (SŽD) were wide-gauge diesel locomotives with diesel-electric power transmission primarily for passenger train service. As a locomotive with only one driver's cab they belonged to the ТЭ10 family and were derived from the 2ТЭ10L .

history

The locomotives were created as a passenger train variant of the SŽD series 2ТЭ10Л of the Luhansk locomotive factory . From 1964 to 1967 they were delivered to the Luhansk locomotive factory with 218 copies. Compared to a section of the 2ТЭ10L , the locomotive differed in its gear ratio of 63:20 (as with the ТЭП10 ), which enabled the locomotive to reach a top speed of 140 km / h, as well as the facilities for the passenger train brake . Due to the unification with the 2ТЭ10L , the locomotive's second driver's cab was not available, which made it necessary to turn at the destination station. That was the main disadvantage of the locomotive compared to the original ТЭ10 and the ТЭП10 . However, two sections of the series ТЭП10Л could be coupled back to back, which enabled particularly heavy passenger trains to be guided and made turning unnecessary. The machine parameters of the locomotive did not differ from those of the ТЭП10 of the Kharkov locomotive factory .

On January 1, 1976, the locomotives drove on the railway lines around Moscow , the Northern Railway , the Odeska Salisnyzja and in Kazakhstan .
