The SAVE Foundation ( S icherung agricultural A rten V ariety in E urope, Eng. Safeguard for Agricultural Varieties in Europe) is a company incorporated in 1993 Organization for the Safety of agricultural biodiversity in Europe .
goals and tasks
The foundation aims to promote agrobiodiversity . Efforts are particularly aimed at keeping livestock breeds and cultivated plant species threatened with extinction .
Information, coordination and promotion of national activities are the main tasks. Country organizations still need to be set up in various countries. Other tasks are also to be found in Eastern and Southeastern Europe, where agriculture is undergoing radical restructuring. Maintenance projects are mainly carried out in situ or on farm.

Arca-Net
A database on the Internet and tourist guides to publicly accessible institutions in Europe that show endangered livestock breeds and cultivated plants.
Fruit-Net
Online database for neglected and forgotten fruits: online inventory of the still existing variety of varieties including synonym register and links to the preserving organizations.
ELBARN
ELBARN is the abbreviation with the first letters of "European Livestock Breeds Ark and Rescue Net". ELBARN is a European Ark and Rescue Network (European Livestock Breeds Ark.) Co-financed by the EU Commission as part of the “Community program for the conservation, characterization, collection and use of genetic resources in agriculture (GenRes 870/2004)” from 2007 to 2010 and Rescue Net), which aims to bring endangered livestock breeds and plant species to safety in ark or rescue stations quickly and efficiently when threatened. The website is called Elbarn.net and consists of an online database of the ark and rescue stations, which are publicly accessible, and publications such as the ELBARN book.
European Agrobiodiversity Network
The website called Agrobiodiversity.net , called a service of the SAVE Foundation, provides contacts to the individual country organizations and networks the various activities in Europe. National, regional and European networks are listed that are committed to the conservation of agrobiodiversity.
