aims

The aim of the foundation is to preserve the European natural heritage in all its diversity.

The projects focus on wild animals such as wolves , brown bears , lynxes and endangered migratory birds, as well as valuable natural and cultural landscapes. An important approach in the foundation's work is to connect people and nature in order to achieve a long-term success of the projects for the protection of endangered wild animals and their habitats in Europe.

The foundation is heavily involved in the " European Green Belt " initiative . The aim of the initiative is to permanently preserve the natural values of the former Iron Curtain - through international cooperation - as a corridor of habitats with exceptional biodiversity. In addition to its commitment to the organization of the entire initiative, the EuroNatur Foundation has been coordinating nature conservation activities on the Balkans Green Belt, the southernmost section of the European Green Belt, since 2004.

Working method

The foundation brings together scientists, conservationists, farmers, politicians and entrepreneurs across borders. A special focus is on the Balkans. The foundation does not set up its own structures in its project areas, but cooperates with private and volunteer conservationists on site. She participates in the planning and implementation of large protected areas and develops species protection projects for wolves, bears, lynxes and migratory birds on a scientific basis. Workshops, seminars and training programs are offered to promote the exchange of useful experiences and knowledge on the protection of wild animals in Europe. There is also political lobbying within the European Union.
