The SB old 25 were steam locomotives of the Südbahngesellschaft (SB), a private Austrian-Hungarian railway company . From 1864 they got the series designation SB 31 . The four locomotives actually came from the Kaiser Franz Joseph-Orientbahn , which they bought from the Wiener Neustädter Lokomotivfabrik in 1859 , but gave them neither names nor numbers.
The machines had external frames, Hall cranks and internal controls. Simple “glasses” were provided to protect the staff from the weather.
The locomotives were retired between 1903 and 1908.
