history

Kubikov began his career as a techno DJ in Moscow clubs. In 1997 he met the music producer Maxim Milyutenko. Together they recorded their first pieces of music. The first release under the alias SCSI-9 was a single, Maks Is Dreaming, on the Berlin minimal techno record label Salo in 1999 . The following year, House Drop was their first album on the Russian label Citadel Records . This was followed by releases on the Force Tracks label belonging to Force Inc. Music Works . When the associated distribution EFA filed for bankruptcy in 2005, Kubikov and Milyutenko suffered financial losses.

With the release of the single All She Wants Is , they switched to the renowned Kompakt label and thus became known to a larger audience in Germany. In the same year, their second album, Digital Russian , appeared on Force Tracks . In 2006 and 2008, more albums followed on Kompakt . In the meantime they have published archive material with the Compilations History Pt.1 and Pt.2 . Together with the Brazilian techno producer Gui Boratto , they released the split EP Matryoshka / Another Day Acid in 2007 , which is also number 55 in the style-defining memory series on Kompakt .

They also delivered remixes for Process ( Pelican ), Midiots ( Song Seven ), Superpitcher ( Tomorrow ), Tom Clark ( Midnight Traveler ) and Masha Era ( Ice Touch ).
