Tom Clark ( Thomas Haertel * 1. April 1971 in Berlin ) is a German Techno - and House - DJ , musician and label owner .

Life and career

Clark got his first DJ experience at school parties. He recorded his own mixes of hip-hop, disco, NDW and rock pieces with cassette recorders. Since 1992 he has been playing in Berlin clubs and at raves . Among other things, he appeared regularly in the Tresor and in the E-Werk . Appearances at major events such as Mayday , Love Parade , Chromapark , Danube Rave or Rave & Cruise followed . With the Frontpage magazine , he went on the nationwide Frontpage High Five Tour from November 1994 , whose 14 events were attended by a total of 20,000 guests.

In 1995 he started producing his own pieces of music. Together with Dirk Lunkenheimer (Curtis IC) he founds various music projects such as B. Klark Technik and X-Men . He later produced with Felix Rennefeld (Alexander Marcus), Steve Bederski (Trike) and Jens Augustowsky (DJ Zky), among others . In May 1997, Clark founded the Gold Plate Music label together with Thomas Alexander , on which artists such as Adel Hafsi , Autotune and Funkwerkstatt published among others . In 2000 he founded the label Highgrade Records , with which Clark dedicated himself to the production of minimal tech house .

His debut album King Tide was released by Morris / Audio in 2002 . The second album Service Station followed in 2006 on his own label Highgrade Records . Together with the musicians Adel Hafsi , Daniel Dreier , Todd Bodine and Markus Homm , he founded the Highgrade Disharmonic Orchestra project in 2010 .

As a remixer he produced reworks for Members of Mayday ( Great , 1995), D.Diggler ( Cherrypoppers , 2001), Alexander Kowalski ( Delicious , 2002) and SCSI-9 ( Wild Flowers , 2006), among others .

In Berlin, Clark plays as a resident DJ in the Panorama Bar , Berghain , Watergate and the Arenaclub . He also appears as a DJ in other European countries and Australia.
