Superpitcher (* 1973 ; bourgeois Aksel Schaufler ) is a German DJ and producer of electronic music .

Life

He grew up in Laichingen near Ulm with seven siblings. According to her own statements, his mother was a member of a religious sect that considered film, television and pop to be the work of the devil. In 1994 he began to hang up, produce his own music and remix the music of others. His focus during this time was on hip-hop , dub and reggae . He also moderated a music program on regional radio. So it was that he Skiz Fernando, Jr. , the founder of the New York hip-hop - Labels Wordsound interviewed. After a private conversation, he was the first non-American to send four tracks to New York - at that time under the name Sir Positive - which were published on a Wordsound sub-label.

In 1996 he moved to Cologne , where his interest in electronic music was further increased. He got to know Michael Mayer and Tobias Thomas from the Kompakt label, who offered him the opportunity to work on Kompakt. Since 1998, the two have organized the Total Confusion party series every Friday in the Cologne club Studio 672 , which now only takes place monthly at Kölner Bogen 2 . Aksel Schaufler became resident DJ there under the name Superpitcher . He started producing his own tracks. His productions made him internationally known and a sought-after remixer. He made two successful tours through the USA and Japan. In 2003 he stopped working for Kompakt and began producing his first own album, which he released in 2004 under the title Here Comes Love . The CD, which includes a guest appearance by the presenter Charlotte Roche (vocals on the track Träume ), and for whose back cover Wolfgang Tillmans donates a photograph by Schaufler, received good reviews. With his project Supermayer (together with the DJ, producer and Kompakt co-owner Michael Mayer) he released the album Supermayer save the world in autumn 2007 , which was also very well received by the critics.

On September 6, 2010, his album Kilimanjaro was released on Kompakt.

Together with Rebolledo he often appears as the 'Pachanga Boys'.
