The SC Germania Mönchzell 1933 eV was a German sports club based in the Mecklenburg district of Mönchzell in the Rhein-Neckar district of Baden-Württemberg .

history

Foundation and time in the 1st amateur league

After it was founded in 1933, the first soccer team was promoted to the 1st Amateur League North Baden for the 1972/73 season . With 18:42 points, the club had to relegate straight back to the 2nd amateur league after one season over the 16th and last place. A further rise succeeded again in the 1975/76 season , but with 21:39 points, the amateur league was over again after one season over 15th place. For the 1977/78 season , the club then rose again to the Baden League, which emerged from the 1st amateur league. This season the club placed 14th with 20:40 points. For the next season, the third-class Oberliga Baden-Württemberg was introduced instead of the Baden League. Due to the placement, the team then played in the new fourth-class association league North Baden from the following season .

Decline to the district league

From this Mönchzell rose with 21:39 points but then directly further into the regional league Rhein-Neckar. There the 1978/80 season could then be finished with 32:28 points in fifth place. After 13th place with 22:38 points after the 1983/84 season, relegation from the regional league to the Heidelberg district league was due. The 1984/85 season ended with the team in 10th place with 23:29 points. After two runner-up championships in a row, after the 1987/88 season, a championship title was finally achieved again with 37:15 points, with which the club was allowed to climb back into the national league. There, Germania was able to hold its own with 29:31 points over ninth place. From then on, the club should always have to fight against relegation. After the 1992/93 season it went back to the district league with 5:55 points over the 16th and last place. In the district league, the SC was then passed straight through and had to relegate again at 3:57 as bottom of the table again.

Return to the district league

In the district league A Heidelberg they finished the 1994/95 season with 27:33 points in 12th place. After the 1997/98 season, the championship in the district league succeeded from here with 73 points. With 72 points, the team was able to place itself in second place in the district league after the 1998/99 season with 72 points. As a result, the club was then also entitled to take part in the promotion relegation. There, however, they lost 2-0 to ASV Feudenheim . After the 1999/2000 season, he came second with 73 points. In the relegation, however, the team failed again, this time at Türkspor Mannheim . In the following seasons, however, the club could no longer play at the front and had to relegate to the district league again after the 2002/03 season with only 12 points. Here the next season was finished in sixth place with 46 points. From this league was then for the 2004/05 season the district class from Mönchzell with 62 points over second place but could also be promoted directly back to the district league.

End in the district class

However, you should only be able to stay there for one season and with 19 points you rose directly from last place. In the district class, with 43 points, after the 2006/07 season in 12th place, only one placement in the lower midfield was achieved. After the 2007/08 season, this also went down with 28 points and 16th place. In the district class B it went down again once more, this time with 34 points over the 15th place.

Having arrived in the bottom division, the club put an end to the long slide and, due to a merger with the football department of TSV Meckesheim, became the newly founded FC Germania Meckesheim-Mönchzell .

After the merger with the TSV footballers into the new FC Germania Meckesheim-Mönchzell , the championship in the district class C Heidelberg Nordost succeeded in the first season with 71 points thanks to a better goal difference in front of the second team of SpVgg Neckargmünd . In the district class B, the FC then placed after the 2010/11 season with 37 points in 11th place in the table. After the 2012/13 season it was enough for the team with only 27 points for 14th place, which meant the team had to go into relegation. There they met SG Rockenau , against which the team should lose 0: 3, so the club had to relegate back to the district class C. After the 2014/15 season, I finally managed to take part in the promotion relegation with 73 points and second place. After the first and second leg, however, they lost 2: 5 on penalties to FC 1986 Sandhausen . Another second place was then achieved after the 2017/18 season. With a 5: 6 n.E. defeat against the second team of SG ASV / DJK Eppelheim you had to pull the short one again. After the 2018/19 season, however, the championship finally succeeded again and the FC was allowed to move up to the district class B without relegation. The team still plays there to this day.
