The 1st amateur league North Baden 1972/73 was the 23rd season of the  1st amateur  soccer league in North Baden - the forerunner of today's  Baden Association League . North Baden amateur champion was VfR Mannheim , who finished the promotion round to Regionalliga Süd in first place and after two years managed to get promoted back to the second division. The VfL Neckarau and Germania monk cell had to descend to the 2nd Amateur League. The third from bottom Germania Friedrichstal was allowed to stay in the league because of the rise of Mannheim. For the following season 1973/74 came from the 2nd amateur league the promoted ASV Feudenheim , VfB Bretten and VfB Eppingen .
