The Football Baden League 1977/78 was after a structural reform of the association the successor to the third class 1st amateur league and the only season of the top division in North Baden with this name. The North Baden amateur champion was FV Weinheim , who did not have any success in the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga South and thus joined forces with SV Sandhausen , 1. FC Pforzheim , VfR Mannheim and SV Neckargerach for the new amateur league Baden-Württemberg qualified. The remaining clubs played from the coming 1978/79 season in the new top division of North Baden, the Baden Association League. The SV Sinsheim , FC Friedrichstal , Viktoria Wertheim and FV Hockenheim qualified as promoters in the association league .
