history

FC Dossenheim was founded on November 3rd, 1910. Five football fans started the club under the name “Club Sportfreunde 1910 Dossenheim”. The club's heyday began in the 1970s. It should be the most successful years of FC Dossenheim in terms of sport. In the 1971/72 season, the first team won the championship in the 2nd amateur league. The promotion games against the Odenwald master Osterburken were successfully designed and the promotion to the 1st amateur league (at that time the third highest division) was achieved for the first time in the club's history. In 1974, FC was in first place at the end of the season, tied on points with SV Sandhausen , VfB Eppingen, 1. FC Pforzheim and Karlsruher FV . Since the goal difference did not count at that time, a decision round had to decide on the champions. FC Dossenheim was only runner-up.

In the 1980s, a women's team from FC Dossenheim was also founded. From a carnival fun with the players' women playing against the men in front of numerous spectators, whereby the proceeds were always donated to a good cause, the game was finally started in the national league. In 1990/91 the championship and promotion to the association league succeeded. In the mid-1990s the team had to be disbanded due to a lack of players.

The men's first team slipped down into the regional league due to a lack of financial resources, before today's coach Uwe Gramlich led FC back to the regional Rhein-Neckar league. From 2002 to 2005 the Dossenheim home grown and former Bundesliga player Markus Bähr took over the post of head coach and was able to end his career after three good years in the regional league.

Youth work

FC Dossenheim has been known for its good youth work for decades. Time and again, youth players from FC Dossenheim made the leap to Bundesliga clubs or higher-class clubs from the region such as Karlsruher SC , TSG 1899 Hoffenheim or SV Sandhausen .

The Körbel Cup has been held in Dossenheim since 1987. At the C-youth tournament, which was originally initiated by Charly Körbel, Bundesliga clubs such as record winners Borussia Dortmund , Eintracht Frankfurt , VfB Stuttgart , Karlsruher SC , SC Freiburg and 1. FC Kaiserslautern have been fighting for the challenge cup for years .

The Eintracht Frankfurt football school has been a guest in Dossenheim since 2004, where young talents are professionally trained by former professionals and Eintracht youth coaches.

The Eintracht Frankfurt Football Academy has been based on the Dossenheim sports field since 2007. Young talents from the area are encouraged.
