history
The club was created in 1972 through the merger of FC 22 Unterlauchringen eV (founded in 1922) and SV Oberlauchringen 1949 eV (founded on July 2, 1949). The decision to merge was made on March 26, 1972. On July 23, 1972, the members of both associations agreed to a joint general meeting, which also became the founding meeting of SC Lauchringen. Before that, on July 1, 1971, the two communities Unterlauchringen and Oberlauchringen merged to form Lauchringen. In the 1971/72 season, the junior players of both clubs formed five joint teams in play.
SC Lauchringen was awarded the Fair Play Prize of German Sports 2018 in the special prize category. The club was honored for the fact that the footballers had left the pitch closed during a regional league game in order to show solidarity with their teammate Kebba Manneh, who had been racially insulted by opposing spectators during the game . The jury justified the award:
“The team of SC Lauchringen thus set an unmistakable and important signal against racism, which is also important beyond sport. Especially nowadays, openness, tolerance and solidarity must be defended and lived as pillars of our society. The behavior of the SC Lauchringen team shows the potential of sport to convey such values and to stand up for them. "
