The sports club Monachia Munich was a sports club in Munich. It was founded in 1890 and was mainly active in cycling and cycling polo .
In 1908 the footballers of FC München-Laim joined the club. The soccer department played under the name Wacker in the top division of the time, the A-class Ostkreis (see South German Football Association ). It split off again in 1913 and later became known as FC Wacker Munich .
From 1909 ice hockey was played in the club. The greatest success was participation in the German ice hockey championship in 1913 .
In 1911 a hockey team was formed. The now independent HC Wacker Munich developed from the hockey department .
The SC Monachia square was on Plinganserstraße in the Sendling district of Munich . Football and hockey were played on the pitch in summer and ice hockey in winter. Today the Demleitnerstrasse district sports facility is located here.
