The SC Oelde 09 was a sports club from Oelde in the Warendorf district . The first soccer team played for three years in the highest amateur league in Westphalia.
history
The club was founded on June 6, 1909 as Sportclub Preußen Oelde and played its first game against FC Beckum . A year later, some members split off as FC Britannia Oelde , before both clubs merged in 1911 to form Sport-Club Oelde 09 . In 1946 the later national player Helmut Rahn moved to Oelde and became champions of the district class with his team. In the subsequent promotion round , however, the Oelder failed at SC Gelsenkirchen 07 , SuS Recklinghausen and SC Münster 08 . A year later, the 09 runners-up behind Arminia Bielefeld . The Oelder successfully protested against Arminen Helmut Ullmann's eligibility to play. 14 points were deducted from Bielefeld, so that SC Oelde 09 rose to the state league.
After only one year of the national league , the 09ers were relegated and Rahn returned to his home town of Essen in 1950. The Oelder, meanwhile, returned to the national league in 1954 and immediately achieved sixth place . A year later , however, the team missed the newly created Association League Westphalia . In 1960 the 09 runners-up behind BV Brambauer and relegated to the district class a year later. Further national league guest games followed in 1963/64 and from 1967 to 1969, before the Oelder were able to establish themselves in the national league after rising again in 1974. After a third place in 1976, they were relegated to the district league four years later, where the Oelder came third in 1984, 1986 and 1988.

On March 9, 1990, SC Oelde 09 merged with SuS Eintracht Oelde to form the Oelde 90 game association . This was in the first three seasons each runner-up behind Blau-Weiß Ahlen , Westfalia Rhynern and TuS Ahlen , before it worked out in 1994 with the promotion to the regional league. The game association held here until 1999, before relegation to the district league A followed four years later. The direct re- promotion was missed against the tied SpVg Beckum . At the end of the 2000s, the game association stabilized in the top group of the district league A and became district champions in 2014 and 2015. However, the team failed in the promotion round to the district league at VfL Sassenberg and TuS Freckenhorst .
The women's team of SpVg Oelde competes in the district league and was runner-up behind SV Spexard in the 2018/19 season . The home arena is the Jahnstadion with a capacity of 4,000 seats. The game is played on natural grass .
