The SGS Institut Fresenius GmbH is a subsidiary of since 2003. SGS Societe Generale de Surveillance Holding (Germany) GmbH , the German subsidiary of the Swiss SGS -Konzerns. history
In 1848 the Chemisches Laboratorium Fresenius Wiesbaden was founded with an associated teaching department by Carl Remigius Fresenius . In 1888, the first hygienic and bacteriological department in Germany was attached to the Fresenius Chemical Laboratory. After the Second World War , water, environmental and food investigations were resumed in 1945. Between 1975 and 2002, the head office in Taunusstein in the Rheingau-Taunus district in Hesse was expanded and the fields of work (pharmaceuticals and agriculture) expanded.
Institut-Fresenius quality seal
The Institut Fresenius seal of quality has been awarded to products in the food industry since 1973, but also to products in the cosmetics, hygiene, cleaning and consumer goods industries.
