Unit Ueckermünde was founded in 1945 under the name SG Ueckermünde . The loose sports group acted in 1948/49 for one season in the LL Mecklenburg ( SBZ ), in which the last place was occupied with only three season points. With the entry of the Ueckermünde city administration, the company sports association , like all the teams in the state administration, was managed within the central sports association Einheit under the name Einheit Ueckermünde from 1949 .

On a sporting level, Einheit Ueckermünde was one of the founding members of the third-class district league Neubrandenburg , which was introduced in 1952 and in which the unit, with brief interruptions, became a constant until the 1980s. In the seasons 1958, 1967/68 and 1971/72, Ueckermünde narrowly missed promotion to the 2nd GDR League or GDR League after Empor Anklam , Empor Neustrelitz and the transport companies goods with three runner-up championships . In 1959 and 1960, the BSG from Western Pomerania took part in the FDGB Cup , in which it failed prematurely at Motor Stralsund and Vorwärts Berlin .

After 1990 the club changed its name to FSV Einheit Ueckermünde . The FSV has since appeared in the national league for a long time. The promotion to the Association League Mecklenburg-Vorpommern succeeded in 2014.
