SCO19
The SCO19 are the specialized forces of the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) in London. The unit is kept ready for armed incidents around the clock.
Originally the unit was called SO19 . In January 2012, the Central Operations and Specialist Crime Directorate (SCD) was transferred to the Specialist Crime & Operations (SC&O) and the unit was renamed SCO19. The SCO19 has around 550 members who are divided into various sub-units. The unit is a member of the ATLAS network .

Other
The police officers of the SCO19 are also equipped with non-lethal tazers . All officers of the SCO19 have the same basic equipment as every other officer: A (operational) multi-purpose stick , CS gas , speed cuffs and a radio . Instead of the standard puncture-proof vests, which have low-level ballistic capabilities, SCO19 officers are specially protected by bullet-resistant vests .
