history

The naval airport "List" on Sylt needed a suitable transport vehicle for fuel transports. This was in 1936 by the DÜWAG built under the serial number 40180 and on 10 February 1937 that the Sylt Northern Railway subsequent meter-gauge network delivered to the airport.

After the end of World War II , the car was used to supply fuel to the SVG's Westerland depot . He commuted almost exclusively between the Federal Railway Station and the Inselbahnhof and only covered around 110 km per year. Since due to lack of traction vehicles with Sauglufteinrichtung the vacuum brake of the car was taken in November 1962 out of service, he had a to installation air brakes in December 1965, an exemption and a number of requirements that the traction unit (only the diesel locomotives L 7 and L 20 were allowed) and the maximum speed (6 km / h). Car 1002 was the last SVG company vehicle to be retrofitted with an air brake.

After regular traffic on the Sylt Island Railway was discontinued in the winter of 1970/71, the car was still used occasionally to supply fuel to the locomotives of the mining trains. In 1972 it was acquired by the IHS and has since been available as a weed killing vehicle on the Selfkantbahn . Before arriving there in 1973, the car was parked briefly in the Mülheim-Speldorf tram depot. At the moment (as of April 2015 ) it is operational.
