The SV Jahnsbach was a German football club based in what is now the Jahnsbach district of the Saxon city ​​of Thum .

history

Foundation and interwar period

The club was founded on June 1, 1913 under the name of the Jahnsbach football club . Due to the First World War , however, there was never really a game operation in the first few years. On September 12, 1919, the club was then renamed Ballspielclub 13 Jahnsbach . The association finally joined the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs (VMBV) on October 31, 1919.

The Gauliga Obererzgebirge was first class for the 1923/24 season, this season the team finished sixth with 4:14 points. After the 1928/29 season , the team reached first place in their Gauliga with 29: 3 points, so that the club was able to qualify for the final round of the Central German Championship. In the first round on March 17, 1929, the team lost 4: 1 to the Plauener Sport- und Ballspielclub . After the following season, the team ended up only in fourth place. The last first-class season 1932/33 was then finished in fifth place.

After the National Socialists came to power, the club was transferred to the third class. From the 1933/34 season onwards, the team played in the 1st district class, and here the team finished fifth again at the end of the season. After the 1935/36 season, the team was then once again division champions of their district class.

post war period

The first friendly game after the end of World War II was played against the sports community of the neighboring Herold and won 7-2. In 1962 the SG Jahnsbach became the BSG Progress Jahnsbach . In February 1991 the SV Jahnsbach emerged from the BSG . The footballers played from then on in the circle Football Federation Zschopau in the first district league.

Elevator crew status

For the 1993/1994 season, the club then moved to the district football association Annaberg and played there in the county league. After the 1996/97 season, the club then had to relegate back to the 1st district class. After one season, the direct promotion took place, but the team was only able to stay in the class for one season and thus immediately relegated.

In the 2003/04 season, the team again took first place in the 1st district class and was able to move up to the district league again. The club had to leave this again with 25 points in twelfth place. Back in the 1st district class, the club then landed in fifth place with 46 points. After the 2012/13 season, the club then rose as the last of the table with 17 points from the league.
