The SV Preußen Mielau was a German sports club from the Polish city of Mława .
history
The SV Preußen Mława , founded in 1940, was named Mielau in 1941, like the city itself. The situation was preceded by the battle of Mława between German and Polish troops , which took place from September 1st to 3rd, 1939 during the attack on Poland and the resulting illegal German occupation .
The SV Preußen Mława took part in the promotion games to the Gauliga East Prussia , the highest German league at the time, and rose to this in 1940 after SV Viktoria Allenstein was defeated 4-0. In the 1940/41 season, the club just missed the Gaume Championship and only had to admit defeat to VfB Königsberg . In 1941/42 , SV Preußen Mielau was again second behind the previous year's champions. In 1942/43 the club withdrew from the game after just two match days for unknown reasons and ceased to exist in 1944. After the end of the Second World War , the city received the Polish name of Mława again.
