The Anderson Summit is at 2810 m the highest peak of the Ford massif in the Thiel Mountains in the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . The mountain peak , which is snow-covered apart from its top, rises immediately to the southeast of the Walker Spur .
The first ascent took place in 1961 by the US geologist Arthur B. Ford as part of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) expedition to the Thiel Mountains between 1960 and 1961. It is named after Charles Alfred Anderson (1902–1990), then senior geologist at the USGS.
