The Sport Vereniging Robinhood is a football club from Paramaribo ( Suriname ), which in the SVB -Eerste Divisie , the highest Surinamese league play and with 24 titles champions of the country.
history
The association was founded on February 6, 1945. In the first year after the club was founded, SV Robinhood played in a "barefoot league". As champions of this league, the team received a dozen soccer shoes and was able to compete in the second division of the Surinamese Football Association (SVB). With increasing success, the SV Robinhood became the largest club in Suriname and had the reputation of being a club for the common people. 1953 Robinhood became national champions for the first time.
Like all clubs in Suriname, SV Robinhood is an amateur team.
Low point
In the 2013/14 season, the record champions, SV Robinhood were bottom of the table in the former Hoofdklasse - since 2017 Eerste Divisie and thus rose for the first time in the club's history.
After a year in the then first class , since 2017 Tweede Divisie , the club was able to assert itself as second in the table in two relegation games against the penultimate of the former Hoofd class , SV Boma Star and thus rose again to the top division.
International
At the CONCACAF Champions' Cup , SV Robinhood reached the final five times (1972, 1976, 1977, 1982, 1983) without being able to win the cup.
In the CFU Club Championship , the club championship of the Caribbean Football Association, Robinhood reached the final in 2005; the Surinamans defeated SV Britannia from Aruba in the first round , got on without a fight against North East Stars FC from Trinidad and Tobago and defeated Northern United from St. Lucia in the semifinals . In the final, the Surinamans lost to the Jamaican representative Portmore United .
Stadion
SV Robinhood plays most of its games in the national stadium, the André-Kamperveen-Stadion. Since 2010 the club has had its own small stadium with floodlights at the Dr. Ir. HS Adhinstraat in Paramaribo, Tammenga resort . It has 600 seats (seat shells). In March 2012, the SVB had opened the stadium for games of the then Hoofdklasse .

On September 25, 2016, SV Robinhood won the Stars Cup, which was held for the first time in the André Kamperveen Stadium, against SV Nishan 42 with 2-0 goals. A total of eight teams, including the champions Inter Moengotapoe and the national team, took part in this national tournament from September 17, and they took third and fourth places in the tournament.
