The SV Schüren (officially: Sportverein Schüren 1910 eV ) was a football club from the Dortmund district of Schüren . The first team played for four years in the highest Westphalian amateur league.

history

The club was founded in 1910 as FC Union Schüren . The Hansa Schüren association was founded nine years later . Both clubs later merged to form SV Schüren. In 1931 the Schürener rose to the then second-class 1st district class Ruhr . There the team met, among other things, Borussia Dortmund with the later national player August Lenz . From 1943, the SV Schüren formed a war syndicate together with VfL Hörde and Hörder SC . After the end of the Second World War , all Schüren sports clubs merged to form the people, gymnastics and sports club Schüren . At the end of 1946, SV Schüren split off again.

Six years later, the team became champions of the district class and rose to the Landesliga Westfalen . The sporting highlight was third place in the 1954/55 season behind the Dortmund SC 95 and VfL Altenbögge . A year later , the Schürener missed qualifying for the newly created Association League Westphalia in ninth place . In 1957, the Schürener again reached fourth place in the now fourth-class national league, where the team regularly commuted between groups 3 and 5. Finally, in 1970 it went back to the district class and the SV Schüren became an elevator team between the district league and the district league A.

Successor association BSV Schüren

In 1986 the SV Schüren merged with the football department of TSG 1868 Schüren to form BSV Schüren . This played from 1988 to 1991 in the district league, before the team slipped down to the district league B in 1997. At the end of the 2000s it went up again. The BSV Schüren rose in 2008 in the district league and in 2014 in the state league. In 2018 he was promoted to the sixth class Westfalenliga .
