Saalburg Prize

The Saalburg Prize for the preservation of history and homeland of the Hochtaunuskreis , or Saalburg Prize for short , has been awarded since 1992 by the district committee of the district council of the Hochtaunuskreis in the field of history, homeland and monument preservation.

This prize honors people or institutions who have made a voluntary contribution to maintaining their homeland in the Hochtaunus region. The prize consists of a plaque and a certificate. The prize is presented at the annual reception of the Hochtaunuskreis in the Saalburg Castle in front of up to 400 invited guests. Since 1995, a sponsorship award has also been awarded, which young researchers can also receive. The Pris was presented for the first time on August 9, 1992 by then District Administrator Jürgen Banzer .
