Wolfgang Ronner (born March 30, 1921 in Goldberg , Lower Silesia ; † October 21, 2008 in Kronberg im Taunus ) was a German teacher and local researcher . His main work is the three-volume history of the city of Kronberg im Taunus.

Life

Wolfgang Ronner studied German , history and geography. In 1954 he became a teacher, his last being a senior teacher . Since 1958 he lived in Kronberg, taught at the Altkönig School and dealt intensively with the city's history. Ronner has dealt with the history of Kronberg like no other and has rendered outstanding services to it. Numerous book publications and his work in the Association for History are the basis for further research. In 1972 he was co-founder of the Kronberg im Taunus e. V. In 1983 Ronner received the “Klaus Mehnert Prize for Politics and Religion in the old Kronberg”, the third part of the series “When Kronberg was behind walls”. He was awarded the honorary plaque of the city of Kronberg on the occasion of his 70th birthday in 1991. In 1996 the Saalburg Prize of the Hochtaunuskreis followed.

On March 19, 2005, Ronner was made an honorary citizen of the city of Kronberg in a ceremony in the city hall because of his great services to the city. He played a key role in the development of the city museum (2005) and the castle museum in the main wing of Kronberg Castle (2008).
