The gatehouse as access to the Saaleck workshops

The Saalecker Werkstätten are a listed building complex in Saaleck , a district of Bad Kösen , a district of the city of Naumburg (Saale) in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt . It is registered with registration number 094 95559 in the state's monument register.

description

After founding a school for artists and architects, Paul Schultze-Naumburg acquired the area below Saaleck Castle in 1901 . Here he built a house, workshops and farm buildings until 1914. The complex was given its current form in 1923 and 1924. A wall with a gatehouse was built around the castle-like building complex with its park-like gardens. The architecture of the main building is reminiscent of the period around 1800. Although the interior design has mostly been changed, the entire ensemble with its landscape integration is considered to be well preserved.
