Sabina Zwitter-Grilc

Sabina Zwitter-Grilc (born March 13, 1967 in Villach ) is an Austrian journalist and documentary filmmaker . Since 1989 she has been editor of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) for the minority magazine Heimat, Fremdde Heimat .

Professional background

In the 1970s, Zwitter-Grilc attended compulsory school in Thörl-Maglern / Vrata-Megvarje in Carinthia , then the Federal High School for Slovenes in Klagenfurt / Celovec . In 1985 she began her studies at the University of Vienna . At the same time, Zwitter-Grilc was a parliamentary member of the Green Club from 1985 to 1989 and an employee of the Austrian National Center for Ethnic Groups. In 1989 she started her professional career as an editor at ORF , where she has since worked for the minority editorial team of Heimat Fremde Heimat magazine. In 2002, Zwitter-Grilc enrolled in a degree in journalism , which she successfully completed in 2009 with a master's thesis on the question “What makes journalism out of political strategies”. In 2014 she was awarded the Prof. Claus Gatterer Prize for her documentary film “Shadows of Shame”, which deals with the identity of the descendants of Nazi victims .

Sabina Zwitter-Grilc is married and has two children.
