Sabine Bloch

Sabine Bloch (born May 2, 1966 in Bonn ) is a German diplomat who was ambassador to the Dominican Republic from 2015 to 2018 .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1984, Sabine Bloch began studying international relations at universities in England and Italy , which she completed in 1989 with a Master of Science (M.Sc.) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She then worked for one year between 1989 and 1990 at the European Parliament with the support of a Robert Schuman fellowship .

In 1990, Sabine Bloch began the preparatory service for the higher foreign service and after graduating in 1992 she worked first in the Foreign Office and then between 1993 and 1995 at the Consulate General in Milan , before she was employed in the press department of the Foreign Office from 1995 to 1999. She then worked at the embassy in Argentina between 1999 and 2002 and then from 2002 to 2005 as permanent representative of the ambassador to Albania .

After her return to Germany, Sabine Bloch was Deputy Head of Division at the Foreign Office between 2005 and 2009 and Permanent Representative of the Ambassador to Morocco from 2009 to 2012 , before she was Head of Division at the Foreign Office between 2012 and 2015.

In 2015 Sabine Bloch succeeded Victoria Zimmermann von Siefart as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Dominican Republic . On October 9, 2015, she was received by the President of the Dominican Republic , Danilo Medina Sánchez , to present her credentials.
