Sabine Csampai
Sabine Csampai (* 1952 in Munich ) is a German author and former Munich local politician .
After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts , she worked as a set and costume designer at various theaters. In 1982 she became a member of the Greens . From 1984 to 1990 she was an honorary city councilor in Munich (temporarily as parliamentary group leader ). From 1990 to 1996 she was the third woman mayor - the first woman in the history of the city . In 1996 she renounced her re-election as mayor and was again “simple” city councilor and parliamentary group leader. In 2001 she resigned from the party because of the Greens' Afghanistan policy, but still worked in the Green parliamentary group. In 2002 she stopped serving as a city councilor. At the end of 2011 she rejoined the Greens.
She is third married and has three children. In her novels she “processed” experiences from Munich's local politics.
She lives in Montemerano .
