Sabine Stöwahse

Sabine Stöwahse (married Sabine Schlüter ) (* 14. April 1961 in Bremen ) is a former German basketball player .

career

In August 1978, Stöwahse took part with the German selection at the European Cadet Championships in Spain  and was the best scorer of the Germans during the tournament with 9.6 points per match. In June 1979 she played her first international match for the Federal Republic of Germany and her last international match was in September 1983 at the European Championship in Hungary . Stöwahse came to a total of 59 A-internationals, she was a participant in the European Championship finals in 1981 and 1983.

At club level, she played  in the Bundesliga with BG Dorsten in the 1980s . She initially worked as a bank clerk before embarking on a career as a teacher. Her diploma thesis, presented in 1984, is entitled "Development of the basketball game in the Federal Republic of Germany". She was a primary school teacher in Bühl , and in the summer of 2015 she took up the post of principal of the primary school in Illerkirchberg .
