Sabine Krantz

Sabine Krantz (born February 6, 1981 in Potsdam , until 2008 Sabine Zimmer ) is a former German walker .

In 1998 Sabine Krantz won gold in the 5000 meter track at the Junior World Championships . Over 10,000 meters she was third at the Junior World Championships in 2000 . At the U23 European Championships in 2003 , she was also third over 20 kilometers.

In the adult category, she took part in the 20 km walk at the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis (20th place) and in Helsinki in 2005 (23rd place). At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens she finished 16th. She finished sixth at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg and eighth place at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka.

At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Krantz came in 15th. At the World Championships in 2009 and 2011 and the 2012 Olympic Games in London, she did not reach the goal.

In 2001, 2005, 2009 and 2011 Sabine Krantz became German indoor champion. In the open air, she won the 5000 meter track going in 2005, 2006, 2009 and 2011 as well as over 20 kilometers from 2004 to 2009, 2011 and 2012 at the German Championships. In 2010 she took a baby break, and in early 2013 she resigned.

Her best performance over 20 kilometers from 2004 of 1:27:56 h is a German record.

Krantz started for SC Potsdam and from 2008 for TV Wattenscheid 01 . With a height of 1.65 m, she had a competition weight of 48 kg.
