Sabra Lopes (* in Mannheim ) is a German mezzo-soprano , diseuse , speaker and vocal teacher .

Life

Lopes grew up in Munich . From 1995 to 2001 she pursued her classical singing studies at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" , as well as an acting degree at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin . From 1999 to 2002 she was engaged as a soloist at the Komische Oper Berlin . In 2001 she was a prizewinner at the nationwide interpretation competition for ostracized music in Schwerin.

At an early stage Lopes became interested in theater forms and concert projects beyond the usual genre boundaries of serious and popular music and experimented in the interdisciplinary area between opera , melodrama , drama , performance and chanson .

Guest contracts as a music theater actress and concert singer have taken her to the Konzerthaus Berlin , the Philharmonie Berlin , the International Hans von Bülow Piano Competition in Meiningen , and the TIPI at the Chancellery . Since 2005 she has made guest appearances with her own stage programs at the Schauspielhaus Hannover , Renaissance-Theater Berlin, the Goethe-Institut London, the Pumpwerk Wilhelmshaven , the Ernst-Barlach-Stiftung in Güstrow, the Zeughaus and the Kulturbrauerei in Berlin.

Since 2015, Sabra Lopes has also been working as a speaker - mainly voice over artist - for, among others, Cinephon Berlin, Berliner Synchron, Studio Hamburg, Studio Funk and Alias ​​Sprachtransfer (voice-over for documentaries on ARTE, ZDF, ARD).
