Sabrina Altermatt

Sabrina Altermatt (born March 6, 1985 ) is a former Swiss athlete . Her specialty was the hurdles race .

After she won the silver medal at the Junior World Championships in the 100-meter hurdles in 2004, she was voted Swiss Athlete of the Year and accepted into the World Class Potentials project of the Swiss Athletics Association , in which she stayed until 2009. The Swiss Sports Aid Foundation recognized Altermatt as the young athlete of the year 2004. In the years after 2004, she repeatedly struggled with injuries and switched to the long hurdles . In November 2011, she announced her retirement from top-class sport.

Altermatt lives in the canton of Solothurn and is an economist .
