Sacha Llorenti

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sacha Sergio Llorenti Soliz (born March 13, 1972 in Cochabamba ) is a Bolivian politician. He was his country's interior minister in Evo Morales' cabinet .

Sacha Llorenti resigned from his post as Minister of the Interior on September 27, 2011. The reason was a violent police operation against protesting Amazon Indians two days earlier, which had caused outrage. The Indians wanted to protest against a road construction project through the Isiboro-Secure nature and indigenous reserve . Defense Minister Cecilia Chacón had resigned in protest the day before and road construction was suspended for the time being. As a result, the public prosecutor began investigations against Llorenti. Among other things, it should be clarified who gave the order for the operation.
