Sakhalin III

Sakhalin III is a project for the production of natural gas and condensate east of the island of Sakhalin in the Pacific Ocean in Russia . The assisted areas are further away from the country than in Sakhalin II .

history

In 1993, licenses for the Ajaschski, Kirinski and Ost-Odoptu blocks were granted to the US companies ExxonMobil , Mobil and Texaco . According to new legal regulations in Russia, they had to withdraw from the project in 2004. The rights were given to the Russian company Gazprom , and the Rosneft company for the Weninski block . To this end, the company founded the Wenineft subsidiary, in which Rosneft retained a 74.9% share and the Chinese company Sinopec 25.1%.

In 2013, the first gas was produced from the Kirinskoye field.

The natural gas is transported through a pipeline via Khabarovsk to Vladivostok .
