Sadah

Sadah ( Arabic سدح, DMG Sadaḥ ) is a village and an administrative district ( Wilaya ) in the Dhofar Governorate in the southwest of the Sultanate of Oman .
history
The Wilaya Sadah, like the entire coast of Dhofar, used to be famous for its incense trade. The precious resin was exported via the ports of Sadah and Hasik . Both ports offered natural protection against storms thanks to their geographical location.

The place Sadah is about 135 km east of Salalah and can be reached via the well-developed, paved main road No. 49.
economy
In Wilaya Sadah, people pursue traditional handicrafts, but the collection of the coveted soft smoke still dominates. In addition, livestock and beekeeping are operated. In addition, fishing (especially oysters ) and jellyfish diving are pursued.

Attractions
- In the settlement itself there are some houses worth seeing in the traditional dhofarian / hadramic style.
- If you turn in the direction of Hadbin shortly before Sadah, you can drive to the approximately 1,000 m high Jebel Nuss just before Hadbin, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view of the coast.
- Sadah has a beautiful fort.
- In Hasik, further north, there are some remains of an ancient city and a mausoleum for the prophet Saleh bin Hud at the foot of the Jebel Nuss (English Jebel Nous).
- There are many caves in the mountains. The population is supplied with drinking water from the Ain Laja spring.
